Dingle Writing Courses offers you a rare experience - the chance to devote time to your writing with the help and guidance of a professional writer in one of the most beautiful locations in Ireland.

Our aim is to support you as an emerging or more established writer. There is no prerequisite for attending one of our all inclusive residential weekend courses; it is enough to have the desire to write. Now in our 15th year our reputation for excellence enables us to attract tutors of the highest calibre with experience of teaching at all levels. Our venue in west Kerry, Tig Áine, offers you a retreat, with time and space to concentrate on your work.

A writing course is an intense literary experience; the group becomes a resource for learning, almost as much as the tutor. Numbers are limited to 12 and each course may include kick-start exercises, group workshops, individual writing time, one to one tutorials, lectures and critiques.

For the majority of our participants the chance to be a writer within a community of other writers acts as a significant catalyst to their subsequent work. We know how important it is that you focus completely on your writing. That's why we aim to make you feel at home in an enjoyable, stimulating and nurturing environment.

This year we have scheduled courses to run simultaneously. The Starting to Write course will run over the same weekend as the Poetry course and the Children's Fiction course will run over the same weekend as the Fiction course. Each group will work separately yet have the opportunity to meet over meals and other social occasions.

Accommodation is in single rooms at Ostán Ceann Sibéal, the Ballyferriter hotel. Both the hotel and Tig Áine are equipped with facilities for people with disabilities.

There are a limited number of grants available to writers who cannot afford the full fee. See Booking page
